The line-up combines exciting new wines with some returning festive favourites, and features everything from rich, fireside reds to crisp whites ideal for hearty seasonal dishes.
A selection of sparkling wines is also included, so you have the perfect bottle of fizz on hand for Christmas Day.
But with so many different wines to choose from, it can be hard to know which ones to buy.

Well, don’t worry. I have tried all the new wines coming to Aldi this autumn/winter, and these are the ones to look out for, that won’t break the bank.
My picks from Aldi’s autumn/winter wine range under £10
Specially Selected Methode Cap Classique (£9.99)
Aldi’s Specially Selected Methode Cap Classique is great value at £9.99.(Image: Patrick Glover)
I am not usually a champagne/sparkling wine drinker, but Aldi’s new Specially Selected Methode Cap Classique was exquisite.
This sparkling wine, which is a combination of Chardonnay (54%) and Pinot Noir (44%) from South Africa, was recommended to me by the Aldi team at the tasting, and I can see why.
It had a lovely taste to it and wasn’t too dry, which I find can be an issue with a lot of sparkling wines/champagnes.
On top of all that, it is great value, sneaking in under £10 (£9.99).
I will definitely be purchasing a bottle come Christmas time.
Aldi’s new Specially Selected Methode Cap Classique is available in-store now.
Specially Selected Muscadet Sevre et Maine Sur Lie (£7.69)
Classic white wine drinkers, Aldi’s Specially Selected Muscadet Sevre et Maine Sur Lie is for you.
I am not a white wine drinker (I much prefer a full-bodied red), but I found this to be quite drinkable.
This was despite it having quite a plain taste, probably due to it being a Melon de Bourgogne, which typically yields a lighter-bodied white.
Aldi’s Specially Selected Muscadet Sevre et Maine Sur Lie is available in-store now.
Specially Selected Stellenbosch Chardonnay (£6.99)

If you are looking for a white wine that is a little bit different, I would recommend Aldi’s new Specially Selected Stellenbosch Chardonnay.
From the first mouthful, you are greeted with an array of tropical, fruity flavours.
A fruity white wine, full of character, this South African Chardonnay is definitely one you need to add to your shopping list. And it’s great value at just £6.99 a bottle.

Specially Selected Cotes de Provence Rosé (£8.49)
I don’t usually like Rosé s but I enjoyed Aldi’s Specially Selected Cotes de Provence Rosé (Image: Patrick Glover)
I don’t usually like Roses, but I enjoyed this Aldi’s Specially Selected Cotes de Provence Rose.
Having already made my way through 15 different champagnes/sparkling wines and 21 whites, I came to the Rosés, arguably my least favourite wine.
Safe to say, I wasn’t looking forward to trying these wines, and was hastily trying to get onto the reds.
I was expecting not to have a Rosé on my list of recommendations until I tried the Specially Selected Cotes de Provence Rosé.
It blew me away with its gentle, strawberries and cream flavour, and I found myself actually enjoying a Rosé for perhaps the first time in my life.
While my wife’s go-to Rosé is Aldi’s Pierre Jaurant Le Petite Poulet (£6.29), I will be suggesting we spend the extra few pounds for the new Cotes de Provence (£8.49) next time we go shopping.

Specially Selected Rioja Gran Reserva (£9.99)
While Aldi boasts several nice Riojas, its new Specially Selected Rioja Gran Reserva is my pick.(Image: Patrick Glover)
Having spent the first 26 years of my life in Australia, living off delicious reds from the likes of Penfolds, Yalumba and d’Arenberg, I am very much a full-bodied red wine drinker.
So it was no surprise that my favourite wines of the tasting were reds.
The brand-new Margaux Declassified was my favourite, but we will get to that in a minute, as at £19.99, it didn’t meet the ‘under £10’ criteria.
However, Aldi’s Specially Selected Rioja Gran Reserva (£9.99) did meet the criteria, just, and is well worth a try.
While Aldi boasts several delicious Riojas, this is definitely the pick.
Once again, it has strawberries and cream taste, with a hint of spice. A lovely Spanish red.

Margaux Declassified (£19.99)

While the Margaux Declassified is slightly more expensive, it is a must for any wine drinker.
Another of the wines recommended to me by the Aldi team upon arrival, I saved the best until last on my tasting adventure, and wasn’t disappointed.
This is your classic red wine, consisting of cabernet sauvignon, merlot and cabernet franc grapes, offering flavours of dark fruits and spice.
It also comes from one of “Bordeaux’s most prestigious vineyards”.
While Aldi’s Margaux Declassified isn’t in stores until October, it will be worth the wait, trust me.

My final tasting notes
The headache following the tasting session was well worth it, as most of Aldi’s autumn and winter wines were fantastic.
Whatever your tastes, there is sure to be something for everyone as part of this new seasonal range, most of which offer fantastic value (under £10).
So next time you’re in Aldi, be sure to keep an eye out for these new wines, and be sure to give one a try.
