Hong Kong visa for Indians
Do Indians need a visa to visit Hong Kong?
Indian passport holders can travel to Hong Kong visa-free for up to 14 days but a pre-arrival registration form (here) must be filled online before landing in Hong Kong. Pre-arrival registration is free and valid for six months or until the expiry of the applicant’s Indian passport, whichever is earlier. If the stay is intended for more than 14 days, a visa must be obtained from the Hong Kong Immigration Department.
Process of pre-arrival registration for a stay up to 14 days
The Hong Kong pre-arrival online registration has nine sections—applicant’s information, passport information, travel history to the HKSAR, other travel history, occupation details, purpose of visit, history of visa rejection or deportation from HKSAR, security question (in case the applicant forgets his/her password), and finally captcha (proof that you’re not a robot).
Travellers need to fill these sections with accurate information and after successful registration, print the ‘Notification Slip for Pre-arrival Registration for Indian Nationals’ on a blank A4-sized white paper, which they need to carry when travelling to Hong Kong.
