Dubrovnik’s summer heat may be a challenge for visitors, but for Hong Kong architect and travel sketch artist Vanessa Leung, it has become part of the creative process.
Leung, who is known for documenting her travels through vibrant sketches, shared her experience on Instagram while staying in Dubrovnik. She described meeting up with a fellow artist from Hong Kong and spending mornings sketching the city before the sun climbed too high.
“The heat in Dubrovnik makes sketching during the day quite challenging,” she wrote, adding that she has taken to waking up early or finding shaded cafés to capture the city’s views. One of her highlights was discovering a restaurant with a perfect vantage point of Fort Bokar, where she enjoyed breakfast while sketching.
Leung’s posts reflect her passion for sketching travel journals, blending architecture, food, and the atmosphere of the places she visits. Dubrovnik, with its stone walls and dramatic scenery, has now found a place in her sketchbook alongside her beloved Hong Kong.
