There is great news for Hongkongers who love travelling to Japan. HK Express announced the return of its daily direct flights to Ishigaki starting April 3, 2025. With the return of the route, the Hong Kong budget carrier will fly to two destinations in Okinawa: Naha and Ishigaki.
Furthermore, Hongkongers can choose between Okinawa’s two major airports as entry and exit points which will allow for easier travel to the stunning Japanese island and main islands. Keep reading to find out more details.
Daily HK Express flights to Ishigaki, Japan: Timings
The flight from Hong Kong will depart at 7:35 am daily and arrive at Ishiagaki Airport at 10:40 am. Meanwhile, returning flights to the city will leave Ishigaki at 11:35 am and land in Hong Kong at 12:50 pm daily.
Ishigaki is located in the southwest of Okinawa’s main island and is known for its breathtaking natural beauty. Visitors can explore scenic spots including lighthouses and panoramic views of incredible blue horizons and sunsets. Ishigaki is also great for snorkelling, scuba diving, or glass-bottom boat tours to explore the largest blue coral reef in the northern hemisphere.
The stunning destination is also steeped with rich cultural heritage that blends fascinating traditions and modernity. Travellers who enjoy natural wonders and cultural exploration will be in for a great ride.

Expanding its flight network
Ishigaki is the latest addition to HK Express’ Japan routes. Last year, the air carrier launched new routes to the country including Sendai and Shizuoka. It also resumed service to Hiroshima.
Beyond Japan, HK Express also started to offer flights to Penang in Malaysia, Hualien in Taiwan, and Phu Quoc in Vietnam.
So, it is time to start an unforgettable adventure to Okinawa via Ishigaki.
