We’re less than a month away from Google’s next big launch event and official-looking renders of the Pixel Watch 4 have just been leaked.
The new smartwatch is set to arrive alongside the Pixel 10 series of phones on 20 August, but not much is going to be left to the imagination at this rate. Android Headlines seems to have gotten hold of renders and details of just about every new Pixel device.
The latest renders show the Pixel Watch 4 show the wearable with a very similar design to its predecessor, the Pixel Watch 3.

This was expected, however, there are some key changes beyond the fact that it will come in four colours – Black, Silver, Gold, and Moonstone – and with a large selection of new bands in colours such as Indigo, Limoncello, Iris and Moonstone. Many of these match the Pixel 10 phones.
Android Headlines has details on a new wireless charging system, which is unlike most rivals or previous Pixel Watch models. Instead of a circular puck attaching to the back with magnets, the Pixel Watch 4 will charge on its side.
Two metal contacts will reportedly sit on the opposite side to the digital crown and you’ll simply place it into the charging dock. It looks similar to the Motorola Moto 360 charging docks (which is making a 2025 comeback, it seems).
It appears that Google’s new charging system is both good and bad news, depending on your preferences.

On the plus side, it could mean 25% faster charging than before and it’s also a much neater solution for sitting on a desk or bedside table to see the charging progress while doubling as a handy clock.
It’s also likely a change that Google has made in order to make the Pixel Watch 4 repairable, so a potential lifesaver if you do smash the screen.
However, it means fans who are hoping for Qi wireless charging to be added aren’t going to get their wish. This would have meant you could top the watch up on a wide range of compatible chargers, but instead, you’ll need to keep the official dock with you.
