Goodbye to your favorite apps? Google deletes apps from Play Store without warning

This week Google has been forced to delete a series of apps following what they claim an “extensive and sophisticated ad fraud scheme” that has amassed more than 56 million downloads for 180 malicious apps.

Google has now deleted all these apps from its Play Store, but serious damage has been done and users are recommend to remove trivial or rarely used apps from their devices.

The latest threat comes from harmful spyware, like KoSpy and the step is a bid to keep this malware out of its ecosystem.

Google also recommends that all users ensure Google’s Play Protect is enabled at all times on your device.

Google Play Protect automatically protects Android users from known versions of this malware on devices with Google Play Services, even when apps come from sources outside of Play.
