Go COMO bus riders can now use the SPOT app to track buses in real time, view bus schedules and receive service alerts, the city of Columbia announced Friday.
Go COMO will stop using its current app, DoubleMap, on Dec. 31 when the provider of DoubleMap ends nationwide support for the app, according to the city.
This gives app users two months to switch to SPOT, which is a product of ETA Transit.
“We encourage all riders to download and familiarize themselves with the ETA SPOT app before Dec. 31, when Go COMO will end use of DoubleMap,” the city said in a news release.
The city will issue reminders about the switch over the next two months through signs posted at the Wabash Bus Station, inside buses and in bus shelters, announcements in the DoubleMap app, via RAVE text alerts, and through messages posted to GoCOMOTransit.com and Go COMO social media, according to the news release.
ETA SPOT is available for download for free on Google Play at play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.etatransit and the App Store at apps.apple.com/us/app/eta-spot/id1021211544.
