Full schedule, tee times and how to watch in the UK

The action has started in Augusta, Georgia, as the Masters tournament gets into full swing

The Masters is now in full swing after rain suspended play at the start of the week.

The major men’s golfing tournament had an inauspicious start in Augusta, Georgia when practice rounds were cut short on Monday by downpours and the threat of thunderstorms forcing players to evacuate from the course.

But better weather saw the practice rounds resume on Tuesday, as the professional golfers geared up to compete in the 89th Masters tournament.

World No 1 Scottie Scheffler is back to defend his title.

But there 94 other players all with the winner’s green jacket in their sights, including world No 2 and Northern Ireland native Rory McIlroy.

When is The Masters 2025?

The Masters tournament runs from Monday 7 April to Sunday 13 April at Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia, USA.

The schedule for the week is as follows:

  • Monday 7 and Tuesday 8 – the practice rounds, when the players accustom themselves to the course and perfect their game.
  • Wednesday 9 – Par 3 Contest is held on a nine-hole, par-27 course. Players often have family members or even their children caddy for them during this contest.
  • Thursday 10 April – Round One of the tournament
  • Friday 11 April – Round Two of the tournament
  • Saturday 12 April – Round Three of the tournament
  • Sunday 13 April – Round Four of the tournament

What are the tee times for day one?

Day one of the tournament is on Thursday 10 April, which begins with an honorary tee-off to start the competition, and then main players begin the competitive play.

Tee times are yet to be announced for the day.

However, the honorary starters – who last year were Tom Watson, Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player – are expected to begin around 8am (local time), which is 1pm (BST).

How can I watch The Masters in the UK?

Sky Sports has the rights to screen the Masters in the UK and will be broadcasting all four rounds on Sky Sports Golf or Sky Sports Main Event.

Who are the tournament favourites?

Defending Masters champion Scottie Scheffler is the 5/1 favourite to win this year’s tournament, according to online comparison site Oddschecker.

With two green jackets in his wardrobe, the American golfer looking to become only the fourth player to defend a Masters title.

Second favourite is Rory McIlroy at 7/1. The Northern Irish player is making his his eleventh attempt to complete the career grand slam.
