Fugitive from Mexico arrested in Reno by U.S. Marshals, ICE | Local News

U.S. Marshals and Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested Jairo Paredes-Cota in Reno on Plumb Lane.

They say he was wanted out of Mexico on a charge of sexual abuse of a minor after a warrant was issued in May of 2020.

They say the alleged crime happened when he was a teacher at an Indigenous community university in Sinaloa.

Paredes was also wanted for an active administrative deportation warrant held by ICE.

He’s now in ICE custody pending a deportation to Mexico.
