The Conrad Mansion announces a 2025 historical clothing exhibit, “From Cradle to Grave: Fashions for life’s passages between 1881 and the 1970s.”

Each year, Teresa Knutson, volunteer curator of textiles, creates a new historic clothing exhibit focusing on nineteenth and twentieth century fashion. During the 2025 exhibit, she will focus on clothing worn to celebrate birth, coming of age, and marriage, in addition to clothing worn to memorialize the end of life.

Knutson not only uses fashion to tell the story of the era, but also the story of the Conrad family, who moved into the Mansion in 1895.

Knutson guides groups through the remarkable garment collection at the Conrad Mansion Museum. These special fashion tours will be held the last Thursday of each month, from June through September, from 5:30 –7 p.m. at the Conrad Mansion. There will be an optional Q&A session with light refreshments following the tour.

These tours are family-friendly, but it is not recommended for children under 10. All proceeds benefit the Conrad Mansion Museum.

Tickets are $30 per person. Please visit www.conradmansion.com or Eventbrite to purchase tickets.

The Historic Conrad Mansion Museum is located at 330 Woodland Avenue in Kalispell, Montana. The Conrad Mansion is open for self-guided and docent-guided tours seven days a week.
