It’s getting more and more expensive to travel with your furry friends.
Delta Air Lines drastically raised its carry-on pet fee from $95 to $150, one way.
Joining Delta, American, United, and JetBlue are the most expensive domestic carriers to travel with pets.
All allow each passenger one carrier containing either a cat or a dog.
And you’ll need a reservation, because airlines limit the number of pets allowed in each cabin.
Your animal of choice must remain in the carrier, stowed away under the seat in front of you.
However, JetBlue allows the carrier on your lap while in flight. American, Delta, and JetBlue count carriers as a personal or carry-on item, while United allows all three items on board.
And while Allegiant charges only $50 for your pet, a caution: that’s $50 per flight leg, not per trip.
