Celtics
In a tough stretch, the Celtics kept the tunnel fit game sharp.
Without reliving the loss, a look back at style wins from a week that started off delightfully in celebration of Black men, dandyism, and beautifully tailored fits.
Game 1 Monday: Simple, sophisticated, super
The Celtics slid into the week stylishly.
Jaylen Brown took a page from his launch night style and rocked 741 for the first game of the series, sporting a clean white tee, crisp white pants, and cool white kicks.
Jayson Tatum stunted in the tunnel wearing a slick black pinstripe suit and holding his namesake sneakers in a superhero color scheme, before changing into more subtly designed Tatum 3s for the game.
Game 2 Wednesday: Grey all day
Brown laced up his new “Grey Nebula” 741 Rover days after hosting pop-up shopping on Canal Street in Boston.
Tatum, king of coordination, matched up in a greyscale pairing of slacks and Thom Browne cashmere.
His outfit mirrored teammate Brown in color and designer Browne in style.
Tatum’s sweater reflected the 2025 Met Gala class photo that featured figures like Angel Reese (as seen alongside Tatum in Vogue), Janelle Monae, Demi Moore, and Whoopi Goldberg.
And on his feet, Tatum pulled another Tatum 3 colorway out of his closet for some play on the floor.
Game 3 Saturday: Men at work
Kristaps Porzingis, recovering from a long “non-Covid” illness, pulled up just like the rest of us returning to work post-sick day: comfortable, chill, dressed down.
Brown, on the contrary, dressed way up, looking like an executive on his way to present to the board.
Tatum had a different job to do on Sunday.
“I don’t know if wearing overalls makes him feel better,” NBC Sports Boston analyst Brian Scalabrine said, “but Tatum’s gotta go alpha.”
And what’s more alpha than stomping through New York City in classic Timberland boots — in the birthplace of its style legacy — and Carhartt overalls?
