Hospice of the Chesapeake’s annual Fashion for a Cause event returned on June 5 to the Fluegel Alumni Center at the U.S. Naval Academy, raising more than $305,000 to support its community health programs. The event surpassed last year’s fundraising total, providing vital funding for pediatric hospice care, grief counseling for children, and family support services.
Known as one of the most highly anticipated charity events in Annapolis, the evening featured a red-carpet entrance, food from local restaurants, and entertainment by British magician Chris Dugdale. Bryan Nehman, co-host of C4 and Bryan Nehman on WBAL NewsRadio, returned as emcee for the fourth year and guided the audience through a night of fashion, fundraising, and personal stories highlighting the nonprofit’s impact.
The evening’s centerpiece was a runway show featuring looks from 18 Annapolis-area designers and retailers. The show included designs from Craig Coates Couture, whose work has appeared at New York and Los Angeles Fashion Week. Both professional models and local community members walked the runway, presenting a wide range of styles from casual wear to formal evening attire.
Women modeling in the show included Dr. Melanie Bell, Lisa Caltabiano, Jacqueline Coche, Shekila Cole, Tara Collins, Megan Cooper, Carla Criste, Alexis Decker Dugdale, Marina Dugina, Terri Hussman, Kathleen Kryza, Kayen McNeal, Khylah Settle, Dana Smith, Tatiana Tabacek, Rose Walker, and Kristin Williams.
Men modeling included Mike Baldwin Jr., Jeremiah Batucan, Doug Beaver, Brian Berger, Kevin Campion, Chris Dugdale, Aaron Gaskins, John Hussman, Craig Johnson, Jay Jones IV, Josh Magariel, Jarret Simpson, Alexander Strachan, Brandon Temple, and Patrick Wergin.
Funds raised during the event directly benefit Hospice of the Chesapeake’s services, with a strong focus on pediatric and grief support programs. These services ensure that children and families facing serious illness or loss receive the care and guidance they need.
