Fashion and Beauty Combine for Professional Fair

Fashion and Beauty Combine for Professional Fair

For the second year in a row, the Fox School of Business has combined the worlds of fashion and professionalism into one unique event. Three Temple clubs (Beauty Birds, Fashion & Business, and Women in Business) joined forces once again after their successful debut last year. Vice President of Women in Business Caris Daneker says one of the main goals is to “present fashion and style in the business world by showing you can still show your personality when dressing business professional [and/or] business casual.”

The event kicked off with a student-run fashion show full of excited participants. Many of the students had never modeled before and were eager to walk the runway for the first time. A total of twenty-three students showcased their looks one-by-one before ending with an encore procession. From colorful to neutral, classic to modern, a wide range of professional styles were on display.

Immediately following the fashion show, attendees were invited to network with a handful of hiring managers from notable fashion and beauty brands. Burlington, Snipes, Spencer’s | Spirit, Nordstrom, URBN, and Doll 10 were among the companies that attended the event. Junior Business Management student Gia James liked that the fair was smaller in scope compared to most others, as it made it less intimidating for her to join in. The highlight of her day was learning about the various roles and responsibilities the representatives have, as it helps her discover where her interests lie in with the world of fashion and business.

With the lack of a fashion minor at the college, the Fashion and Beauty Professional Fair gave students a unique opportunity to see into the real world of business and beauty.
