Most of the 500 Quebec teens surveyed recently are opposed to the use of cell phones in schools. The research was conducted as part of the first phase of work by a National Assembly special commission examining the impact of screens and social media on the health and development of youth.
The second phase of the commission’s work, to be launched Thursday, Jan. 30, will involve consultations and public hearings to examine such issues as access to social media; measures used by schools to control screen time and access to the web; use of video games; and cyberbullying.
