Ecom delivery boy makes off with phones of 20L, arrested

Jaipur: City police Saturday arrested an ecommerce delivery agent who allegedly stole a consignment of high-end mobile phones worth Rs 20 lakh.
His accomplice was also taken into custody, and police also recovered 12 smartphones and a tablet from them.
DCP (east) Tejaswini Gautam said the case was registered based on a complaint from Surendra Singh, an officer bearer of a courier company that delivers ecommerce products. The accused, Sunil Kumar Chandel, worked as a delivery executive for the company for a year. On Sept 29, he allegedly disappeared with a shipment of expensive mobile phones instead of delivering them.
Acting on the complaint, Malpura Gate police launched an investigation. After tracking Chandel’s movements, police arrested him in Jaipur along with his accomplice, Aman Meena. Chandel, 32, is a resident of Tonk, while Meena, 19, belongs to Dausa. Both have a history of criminal activities, police said.
