Doechii may be known as the “swamp princess,” but at Paris Fashion Week, she took the crown. Working with stylist Sam Woolf, the Tampa-based rapper awed fans and fashion critics alike, stepping out in mismatched plaid at Acne Studios, an elegant denim corset at Schiaparelli, and a fabulously retro bodysuit at Tom Ford. Later in the week, she also showed off ‘fits from Valentino and Louis Vuitton, referencing both sartorial and music legends with her looks.
Now that Doechii is back stateside, she’s reminiscing on her Parisian takeover (and then some). Taking to her Instagram, she shared a number of photos shot on a digital camera, giving her followers a behind-the-scenes look at her work with Woolf. “digi fittins pt. 3,” she captioned the carousel of snaps.
The rapper appropriately kicked off her roundup with a photo of herself holding up two different pairs of shoes, seemingly asking her audience to pick one. In one hand, she held a platform pair of jacquard Vivienne Westwood heels, while in the other, she showed off a pair of snakeskin pumps complete with a bow. (Perhaps this was the choice that led her to go barefoot at the Chloé show in Paris.)
Doechii then used the next shot to co-sign the corp-core trend, modeling a corset with a bust made out of newspaper clippings. Below, she slipped into a gray suit-jacket-turned-skirt, which further cinched together her ensemble while adding a whimsical edge to her look. Elsewhere, the rapper posed in an outfit that was presumably an option for the Paris Vivienne Westwood show, as she wore a tan cardigan from the brand alongside an ivory hoop skirt. A chunky pearl necklace, accessorized with Westwood’s signature Venus motif, rounded out her look.
Though many of these looks didn’t see the light in the City of Lights, Doechii certainly made space for them in her Instagram post. Her 17-photo carousel continued with a playful shot of her modeling a blue button-up shirt with some risqué cutouts, which she and Woolf paired with a matching jacket, teal skirt, and avant-garde loafers.
The rapper also shared a humorous photo of herself lying down in a burgundy Gucci robe—surrounded by luxury footwear options—perhaps indicating, as her pose suggests, that she had died and gone to fashion heaven. At least, that’s what it looks like happened, and to double-down on the sentiment, the rest of Doechii’s photos show her in multiple fur coats, sculptural minidresses, and hairy platform boots. (We’d be taking lots of photos too.)
