A driver is dead after a two-car crash on U.S. 95 south of Tonopah earlier this week.
Nevada State Police troopers say the crash happened just before 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, about nine miles of Tonopah.
NSP says a preliminary investigation shows that a Chrysler Pacifica minivan was heading north on U.S. 95 while a Toyota Camry sedan was heading south .. when the Chrysler tried to pass other cars in the opposite lane. That’s when NSP says the Toyota steered to the right trying to avoid the minivan but the Pacifica hit the left front of the sedan on the shoulder where both cars eventually stopped.
NSP says the unidentified Toyota driver died on scene while the other driver was flown by helicopter by a nearby hospital with suspected non-life-threatening injuries.
