The conglomerate founded by the Hong Kong billionaire Li Ka-shing is working on a plan to spin off its telecommunications businesses onto the London Stock Exchange in a vote of confidence in Britain’s equities market.
A listing of the assets by CK Hutchison Holdings, which is currently merging its Three UK unit with Vodafone’s British business, may take place as early as this year, according to Reuters.
A successful deal, which could value the new company at up to £15 billion, would help to address concerns about the health of the UK stock market, which has suffered from a dearth of listings since a boom in initial public offerings in 2021 faded away.
