PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Every week, Arizona’s Family looks up restaurants recently inspected by Maricopa County’s Environmental Services Department. Restaurants with some of the highest numbers of “risk factors,” considered major health code violations by inspectors, are selected for our Dirty Dining Report. Here are the Valley restaurants that did not make the grade for August 6, 2025:
Aruma Café – 2011 E Apache Blvd, Tempe
3 violations:
- Person in charge unable to answer food safety questions
- Worker touched face and hair then prepared beverages
- Horchata mix out of temperature
Shu Sushi Ramen & Grill – 4929 W Chandler Blvd, Chandler
3 violations:
- Fish roe stored above ready-to-eat crab mix
- Dishwasher not working properly
- Cooked meat and shrimp not at proper temperature
Princess Food and Deli – 2620 W Broadway Rd, Mesa
3 violations:
- Employee drinks stored above food equipment
- Worker handling food without washing hands
- Raw beef stored above cooked chicken
The Cheesecake Factory– 3111 W Chandler Blvd, Chandler Fashion Center
3 violations:
- Two employees put on gloves to handle food without washing hands
- Meats and vegetables not held at proper temperature
- Salad cooler drawers not working properly
Jobot – 333 E Roosevelt Street, Phoenix
4 violations:
- Raw eggs above fresh produce
- Butter not kept cold enough
- Rice and ranch dressing kept past discard dates
- Sewage backed up in a mop sink
