BRYAN, Texas (KBTX)- The Sexual Assault Resource Center is hosting their annual survivor fashion show, and they’re calling on the community to support.
This year’s event is titled “Beyond the silence, Stories worn boldly.” Executive Director Kim Dimmett said the fashion show exists to highlight the clothes survivors were wearing when they were victimized to warn attendees against victim blaming.
Dimmett also said SARC is also hoping to attract more volunteers for their programs which include offering accompaniment for survivors if they need it to medical or police visits.
The fashion show is happening Saturday, April 12 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Shirley and Joe Swinbank Agrilife Center.
