“Can be future of Italian football”

Antonio Cassano

Antonio Cassano has high expectations for Inter Milan and AC Milan starlets Francesco Pio Esposito and Francesco Camarda.

Speaking on Viva el Futbol via FCInterNews, Cassano praised the young stars’ skills and potential, giving them a precious advice.

Francesco Pio Esposito got off the mark in Serie A on Saturday, scoring in Inter Milan’s 2-0 win at Cagliari.

Indeed, the 20-year-old came off the bench to make his mark in Italy’s top flight, sealing Inter’s triumph in Sardinia.

Widely regarded as one of Italy’s brightest prospects, Esposito has gone from strength to strength this season.

Despite his youth, the former Spezia loanee has already won Cristian Chivu’s trust.

For context, the new Nerazzurri manager has handed the talented center-forward back-to-back starts in all competitions.

That’s no small feat, especially when factoring in the presence of Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram.

Meanwhile, Cassano hopes Esposito can reach the levels expected of him.

“I wish Pio Esposito and Camarda a wonderful career,” Cassano stated. “I hope they can be the future of Italian football.

“Camarda is a replica of Inzaghi, a player who lives for goals.

“Meanwhile, Pio Esposito knows how to play with the team and is good at protecting the ball.”

In addition, Cassano offered both youngsters a valuable piece of advice.

“Keep your family close, and don’t trust anyone too easily,” he added. “Be smart.

“I come from the streets, and I’m not going back. Do as I did. Nobody gave you anything.”

Like Esposito, Camarda found his Serie A breakthrough last weekend.

Indeed, the 17-year-old striker scored his first league goal for Lecce in a dramatic 2-2 draw against Bologna.

On loan from Milan, Camarda has already established himself as a starter at Stadio Via del Mare.

However, the prodigious teenager will likely return to San Siro at the end of the season.
