Broker arrested for arranging illegal surrogacy for foreigners while traveling to Hong Kong

DSI arrests a broker arranging illegal surrogacy for foreigners at Suvarnabhumi Airport while she was en route to Hong Kong.

BANGKOK, Thailand – The Department of Special Investigation (DSI), in collaboration with the Investigation and Suppression Division of Immigration Bureau 2, arrested a broker arranging illegal surrogacy for foreign clients while she was traveling to Hong Kong at Suvarnabhumi Airport.

The investigation and intelligence center of the DSI, working with immigration enforcement officers, apprehended Ms. Urairisa, wanted under Criminal Court warrant No. 3986/2568 dated July 9, 2025, related to Special Case 87/2567. She is accused of facilitating commercial surrogacy, acting as a middleperson or broker, and being part of a group of three or more individuals conspiring to commit serious transnational organized crime.

The suspect was detained in the departure hall on the 4th floor of Suvarnabhumi Airport, Nong Prue subdistrict, Bang Phli district, Samut Prakan province, while preparing to travel to Hong Kong. She was informed of her charges and rights under the Criminal Procedure Code, including continuous audio and video recording during custody until transferred to the special investigation unit.

Ms. Urairisa was handed over to the Special Case Division of the DSI for Foreign Affairs and International Crime to proceed with legal action. (TNA)
