受邀接受小六學生訪談。學校先寄來訪談問題，內容不外是問我三十年前的小學生活，跟現在有甚麼分別。 其中一個不斷重複的問題是：「你覺得現在自主學習，比你以前填鴨式教育，是否更好？」「以前的老師實行甚麼策略，讓學生懂得自主學習？」「從前的學生不能互相討論，會否令溝通能力下降？」 傳統教育模式，俗稱「填鴨式」，由老師主導單向授課；據說會令學生習慣被動，限制了他們的求知慾和學習動機。故本地教育家在多年前已開始改革，仿效西方模式，逐步推行「自主學習」，讓學生主導探究知識過程，掌握學習節奏和方向。 我想，學校是希望我說出「自主學習非常幸福，比以前填鴨式真是好得多了」。但我這個阿姨口沒遮攔，難忍直說重點：「以前填鴨式的不同處，就是不需帶腦袋上學，老師教甚麼就學甚麼，上課極輕鬆。你們自主學習，上學時被迫要用腦袋思考，當然比較辛苦……」見老師臉色一變，我馬上打圓場：「不過，思考能力是很重要的。就像鍛練肌肉，運用肌肉愈多，肌肉就愈健康發達；平日思考愈多，腦筋就愈靈活、有創意，又懂得表達想法。像我們從小接受填鴨式教育的，成長時缺乏思考訓練，投身社會要用腦袋時，就適應得很慢了。」 自主學習模式，聽來很理想，實際操作卻非常困難。自主學習有五個原素：自定目標、自我規劃、自我監控、自我評價及自我修訂，我們成年人都經常做不到，又怎能要求懵懵懂懂的小學生做到呢？ 二十多年前我入讀醫學院，那時正值改革，將以前的填鴨式講課，改為「問題導向學習」小組討論，但討論內容是沒教過的，要學生預先查考；在互聯網仍未高效普及的年代，找到的資料大多偏離重點。於是，學生在小組根本不知道自己在談論甚麼，而導師也不知怎樣引導，猶如「盲人瞎馬」。掙扎好幾年，結果還是導師必須先給予低年級醫學生一些清晰的基本資料；必須在一定分量的填鴨資料基礎上，再加上成熟的年紀與思維，才能進行有效的自主學習。 撰文 : 許嫣 欄名 : 醫生媽咪 Source link
