DAYTON, Ohio. (WSFA) – The Alabama State Hornets downed St. Francis (PA.) 70-68 on Tuesday night, giving the Hornets their first NCAA tournament win in school history.
ASU trailed for much of the evening but outscored the Red Flash 36-29 in the second half.
Amarr Knox hit the game-winning layup for the Hornets with one second remaining, leading the team with 16 points.
Alabama State now moves on to face the No. 1 overall seed Auburn on Thursday at 1:50 p.m.
