MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) – On Tuesday evening, those with a passion for fashion were at the Peter White Public Library.
Artist and Designer JoAnn Shelby joined Lake Superior Art Association members for the ‘Arty Fashion Show of Upcycled Fabrics.’
The fashion show featured models showing outfits made from repurposed fabrics and other materials. Shelby says she focuses on ecological fashion, creative reuse and artistic detailing.
“I hope they get some ideas of what can be done to revitalize your clothing, everybody wants to be unique and by taking simple clothing that’s been in your closet, you like it but, something is not quite right with it, there’s a lot you can do without knowing how to sew, things you can do with surface design treatment,” Shelby said.
Tuesday night’s show was free and open to the public. For more on the LSAA, click here.
