If you often stare at your phone for too long while sitting in the passenger seat of your car, motion sickness is probably not an uncommon problem for you. For some people, this will kick in as soon as they try to use their phone.
However, that may soon be a thing of the past. Android Authority reports that Google is working on a motion sickness mode for Android phones and Android tablets.
With the new motion sickness mode, or ‘Motion Cues’ as it’s supposedly called, you will see several dots on your Android device’s screen. The dots are animated and will move in the same direction as the car you are in.
You’ll then be able to continue using your mobile phone or tablet as usual while Motion Cues is activated, as the dots are not too intrusive. The new mode is similar to the Vehicle Motion Cues feature that Apple introduced on iOS 18.
Android Authority discovered the Motion Cues feature after digging around in the Android application files. Google itself hasn’t mentioned the feature yet, so it’s unclear when, or even if, the company will launch it.
However, given Apple’s version is already available, it’d make sense for it to come to Android in the near future.
