Aldi discontinues Pop-Tart dupe leaving shoppers upset

Aldi raises minimum rate for staff in UK supermarket first

Aldi is the fourth-largest supermarket in the UK, and consumer champion Which? has been named the UK’s cheapest supermarket for the past four years.

The supermarket giant has discontinued a range of products in 2025, including:

Discontinued UK chocolates and sweets

These axed products follow the likes of its Village Bakery Seeded Medium Sliced Loaf and Moser Roth Vegan Blonde chocolate bar (100g), described as “literally the best chocolate ever”, which were discontinued in 2024.

Now Aldi has revealed its Harvest Morn Top Twists, which were a Pop-Tarts dupe, have also been discontinued.

An Aldi spokesperson, confirming the decision, said: “We continually review our range of products to make sure we’re meeting the needs of Aldi shoppers.”

One fan posted the discovery on the Facebook group Aldi UK shoppers, with others jumping into the comments to express their “disappointment” at the decision.

Another added: “My little boy is so disappointed he loved them!”

Other shoppers weren’t so phased by the news, with one commenting: “They were horrible anyway. Most things are lovely in Aldi, but they were awful.”

Another added: “Good they was crap.”

In good news for shoppers, Pop Tarts are available in supermarkets across the UK, including Asda and Tesco, while Iceland still does its own dupe version (Toast’em Pop-Ups).

The “secret code” in Aldi which will tell you if an item is being discontinued

“Britain’s Coupon King”, aka Jordon Cox, who you may have seen on ITV’s This Morning, has revealed there is a way to prepare and stock up on a product before it is discontinued.

All you need to do is look for the “secret code” on digital pricing labels in-store.

Cox explains: “On the digital pricing labels, if you see an upper case ‘D’ in the top right corner – that stands for ‘Discontinued’.

“Once those items are sold out, they won’t be stocked – so pick it up if it’s something you want. It ain’t coming back!

“Keep an eye out for it while you’re shopping! It might just save you!”
