It’s important to have a go-to pair of jeans all year round — and Sher-Chambers prefers the looser silhouettes worn by A-listers like Naomi Watts and Michelle Williams. “I love wide-leg and barrel-leg denim,” she tells PEOPLE. “It took time for these shapes to catch on, but they’re incredibly flattering, especially when you camouflage the knee line and let the hem skim over a mid-high heel. A slouchy, relaxed fit feels effortless yet polished, the perfect blend of comfort and chic.”
I personally recommend these Levi’s wide-leg jeans, which I own in two washes. They have a flattering, curve-accentuating mid-rise waistline with loose legs that fit over boots. They’re also made from a stretchy material that’s more akin to yoga pants than rigid denim.

Sher-Chambers also crowned a “luxe cashmere sweater” as a timeless staple in a fall wardrobe, and I found a cozy option for under $50. This popular crewneck sweater is made from a soft and toasty cashmere blend that still has a “luxury feel,” in one five-star reviewer’s words. It’s a great piece to dress up or down this fall and winter, no matter if you’re pairing it with a silk skirt at work or leggings to lounge at home.
As for other layering pieces, Sher-Chambers recommends a wool coat to brave the cold and a classic black blazer to pair with just about any bottoms in your closet.

Sher-Chambers knows the secret to elevating any look — literally. “I love platforms,” she explains, though she cautions against “sky-high platforms [that] can be stunning but treacherous, especially on city sidewalks at night.” Instead, the stylist prefers her platforms “in the form of boots or shoes with solid ankle support,” like these plush Ugg boots or lug-sole loafers.
