A crash that occurred on Highway 97 near milepost 117 on Friday has been confirmed to be fatal by Oregon State Police (OSP).
OSP says the investigation indicated a northbound Ford F250, driven by a Madras man, crossed the centerline for unknown reasons, before striking a southbound Jeep Wrangler.
The driver of the Jeep, Rebecka Ann Perrine of La Pine, 43, was declared dead at the scene.
Authorities say the driver of the Ford was seriously injured and transported to an area hospital.
Police say the highway was impacted for about two hours.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
OSP was assisted by Redmond Fire, Redmond Police Department, Dechustes County Sheriff’s Office, and ODOT.
