Kochi: Mulavukadu Police, investigating the theft spree in which 39 mobile phones went missing during an Alan Walker concert in Kochi on Oct 6, will conduct evidence collection with the accused at Bolgatty on Saturday.
The police initially planned to conduct evidence collection on Friday with Atiq Ur Rahman and Waseem Ahammed, who were arrested in Delhi and were already in police custody. However, they decided to postpone it to Saturday, as they expect to have the other two accused, Sunny Bhola Yadav and Shyam Baranwal, arrested in Mumbai, in custody by then.
Meanwhile, police have so far received four complaints connected to the incident. Seven of the 24 phones seized from the accused have been identified by their owners.
Police stated that the investigation is ongoing as the remaining four accused are yet to be arrested. While the police expect to recover all the missing phones, they noted that the accused have a history of dismantling phones to sell the parts. They suspect that some of the phones stolen from Kochi may have been sold in this manner.
Of the phones reported missing, 21 were iPhones and the rest were Android phones. tnn
