MOLINE, Ill. — An upcoming evening of dazzling dresses and cultural attire will raise money for immigrant and refugee services in the Quad Cities.

The American Association of University Women Bettendorf/Davenport will hold an International Fashion Show, highlighting traditional dresses and garments from around the world. It takes place on Sunday, June 1, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Butterworth Center in Moline.

Models will share information about their culture and garments during the event. Light refreshments and a silent auction will also be available.

All are welcome to attend, but organizers suggest a $20 donation at the door. Funds raised up to $5,000 will be matched by an anonymous donor. That money will be used to benefit Tapestry Farms, World Relief and the Quad Cities Alliance for Immigrants and Refugees (QCAIR).

Anyone interested in learning more about the event or showing off one of their own dresses as a model is asked to contact Lisa Killinger at 563-650-5733.
