You got us again, local pranksters! This year’s April Fools’ Day jokes didn’t disappoint. From genius twists that almost had us fooled to totally ridiculous antics, here are some of our favorite local pranks.

The folks at Lackawanna Station had us all doing a double take with their April Fools’ Day prank! They announced that instead of opening as a long-awaited development, the station would become Montclair’s first-ever heliport


We love Montclair Center BID’s April Fools’ Day joke about  “Do-Do Drones” to catch dog owners who don’t clean up after their pets. In fact, we kind of wish it were true.


The Bravitas Group, known for renovating and restoring old buildings to create green new workspaces, announced that it is in contract to buy another bank—the world’s oldest bank building in Siena, Italy, Monte dei Paschi.


Montclair Public Library is ditching the Dewey Decimal System and streamlining it’s shelves. Find all your books in the “B” section!


We just hope our favorite indie bookstore, Watchung Booksellers, keeps its charm when it takes over the world with its new global franchise empire!


Montclair Bike Bus said it was ditching the bikes and embracing cars with a Friday Car Bus!


And speaking of cars, Paper Plane Coffee Co. announced a drive-through window!


If you’ve had Egan and Son’s delicious maple wings, you’ll totally get this one. The Irish pub announced its initial public offering of the cryptocurrency that is going to change the world… one wing at a time: Maple Coin.


The Clairidge recently added alcohol to its menu, and now they’re adding more fun— a ball pit. Burn off some energy before you sit through your next 3.5-hour film!


Even Montclair High School’s class of 2025 decision account got in on the jokes. They shared this pup’s acceptance and major in barking.


With his term winding down, Governor Murphy—known for proudly declaring, “We’re from Jersey, baby! And you’re not!”—took his April Fools’ joke to Broadway. He announced he’d be making his directorial debut in a revival of “Jersey Boys”—because what’s more Jersey than that?

Java Love announced a new flavored latte for April Fools’ Day—a chocolate-covered bacon latte. They were joking, but honestly… we’re kind of into it.


Brookdale Pet Center announced a new way to keep up with the growing demand for its free home delivery service—a Guinea Pig Delivery Team!


The Salad House rolled out a Salad Shake available on April 1 only.


Montclair Bread Company rolled out a new flavored donut for the day.
