62 mobile phones seized from pre-trial detention center No. 1 – Penitentiary Service

AKIPRESS.COM – The Penitentiary Service under the Ministry of Justice commented on the reported ban on lawyers visiting pre-trial detention center No. 1 in Bishkek.

The information about the ban on lawyers visiting their clients in pre-trial detention center No. 1 is not true, the Penitentiary Service said. Today, from 9:00 to 12:00, The center was visited by 12 lawyers who met with 28 clients on December 21, the Service added.

Scheduled searches were conducted in the center on December 20, during which 62 cell phones, 13 chargers and other prohibited items were seized.
