Gen AI-powered digital assistant Meta AI debuted in September 2023 across Instagram, Messenger, and WhatsApp.
Last April, Meta AI replaced the search features for Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, and WhatsApp, with other improvements introduced at the time including faster image generation, expansion into more countries, and the Imagine feature, which enabled users to generate AI-created images from text they typed.
Meta AI was added to Meta Quest virtual reality headsets last July.
Several new features were introduced at the Meta Connect event last September, including voice interactions, AI celebrity voices, the ability to query the assistant about the contents of images, photo editing tools, the testing of a translation tool, and enhancements to Imagine.
