Celebrities make NCAA Bracket picks, Clemson to the Final Four

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (FOX Carolina) – It’s that time of year where it seems everyone fills out a bracket, regardless of their love for college basketball.

The most avid fan will inevitably lose a work or family, or maybe both, bracket pool to someone that chose by team colors or mascot but I guess that is a part of the fun.

Celebrities have been sharing their brackets across social media and while ESPN’s Dick Vitale as shared a love for Clemson this year, making his return to broadcast at Littlejohn Coliseum this year, he has the Tigers out in the second round in a loss to Purdue.

Former President Barak Obama has a lot more faith in the Tigers, picking Clemson to return to the Elite 8 for the second straight season.

Clemson earned the No. 5 seed in the Midwest Region with an at-large bid after winning a program record wins through the regular season, and within the ACC. They have become a popular pick for a first round upset but still plenty of celebrities have more faith in the Tigers.

Minnesota Timberwolves Luka Garza picked Clemson to take it even further, to the Final Four with upsets of Houston and Tennessee on their way to San Antonio. In his bracket, they would fall for the second straight season to Alabama after the Crimson Tide ended the Tigers historic run last year in the Elite 8 in LA.

New York Yankee Jazz Chisholm Jr. visited the Clemson baseball team this past fall and worked out with the Tigers, promoting a new partnership between the team and the gear brand “Absolutely Ridiculous.”

He picked Clemson to advance to the Sweet 16 in Indianapolis. A return to the Sweet 16 this year would mark the fist time in program history the Tigers went to the Sweet 16 in back-to-back years. They’ve played in the Sweet 16 three times under head coach Brad Brownell.

NBA Champion and eight-time All-Star Dwight Howard agrees with Chisholm, picking Clemson to advance to the Sweet 16 where he has No. 1 seed Houston ending the Tigers run.

Looking at some other analysts that have maybe been a little more dialed in throughout the season, former college basketball head coach and current analyst Jay Wright likes Clemson through to Indianapolis on his published bracket.

On a lighter note, 3x Olympic gold medalist Gabby Thomas, the band Nickleback, comedian Bert Kreischer, and Air Bud all like Clemson advancing to the Sweet 16 for a game with No. 1 seed Houston.

Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon likes the Tigers there as well, but picking Saint John’s to win it all.
